It’s that time of the year again.
If you’ve been following me you know that I talk about the #IBCT a lot.
It’s something that I spend a ton of time on, it’s crazy.
Sometimes I wonder why the hell am I doing all of this, but then after I finish my research I’m reassured ten fold.
Another thing you may have noticed me talking about is #OldSchoolKnowledge.
That’s the belief in stuff like “there’s nothing new under the sun” and “anything worth having is worth working and waiting for”.
This is why I believe the best way to learn something worth doing is to learn it from someone who really knows how to do it.
This is how the #IBCT got started.
I used to email a list of great websites to my clients so they could see what’s possible with their blog.
The problem was the list just kept growing and growing.
Finally, I realized I should to come up with a cool way to share this information publicly and get others involved.
THE #IBCT IS BORN
I was very excited with the response from the first year.
This is how I first made contact with very successful bloggers such as the inaugural champion Hesham Zebida of FamousBloggers.net.
Last year I featured hugenormous MEGA websites such as DrudgeReport and Engadget.
I wanted people to see that the sky really is the limit.
- The man behind DrudeReport, Matt Drudge is rumored to be worth over $100 million dollars.
- AOL who purchased Engadget is rumored to looking for a buyer in the EIGHT digit range.
That’s HUGE business, I’m just saying all dreams are free so dream big.
This year I’m focusing on blogs run by individuals or just a couple people.
Small businesses if you will. (Even though Drudge is run by like 3 people, total.)
This year I’ve switched things up a bit.
There are three types of bloggers that I’ve nominated this year:
- Bloggers earning over $1 million dollars per year.
- Bloggers earning over $100k per year.
- Bloggers on the rise. (One day soon 6 and 7 figure earners)
Here are my 128 nominations for the 2013 #IBCT
*In order of Alexa rank.
+Only the top 64 will be selected for the tournament.
Now I want to hear from you.
What are you favorite blogs?
Please send me your nominations before 6PM EST Monday March 18th.
Post a comment below or on the main #IBCT page thanks.

Hey Darnell,
I think anytime I’m nominated for something I’m honored so thank you for that. I’m definitely among a great group of bloggers and it’s kind of fun to see that although there are plenty of bloggers that have a heck of a lower Alexa ranking then me, I’ve got a lot of them beat still. Yay me!
Again I just appreciate the mention so thank you for that.

…you’ve got a lot of them beat in more ways than just Alexa ranking.
Next year I’ll use a better system for ranking.
email subscribers, Blog comments, and social for example

LOL, yeah it’s a lot.
I’m hoping one day to convert the whole thing into an interactive game that you can just play online like farmville, etc.
whatever it takes to get people to see the potential in online marketing.
