WAIT, WTF is the #IBCT?
The International Blogger Championship Tournament is all about learning from the best of the best.
It was created in 2012 to motivate people to learn about blogging in a brand new way that I call competitive comparative analysis.
It matches up the best blogs on the internet in a one on one match up.
The blog with the most votes moves on to the next round and ultimately the championship.
Please check out the main #IBCT page for more information, history, and more.
Some people may be surprised to see Gail’s blog beat all of the amazing competition and win it all this year.
I KNOW I was surprised at all of the support that GropMap.com readers brought to the tournament.
That’s the only word I can use to describe my reaction to all the SOCIAL SHARES and COMMENTS that I received supporting GrowMap.com to win.
It didn’t matter who she was matched up against.
One round after another her supporters showed up and showed out.
Personally I was not aware of GrowMap.com last year or I would have definitely nominated her blog for the inaugural tournament.
Have you ever hear the saying, your reputation precedes you?
Do you know what it means?
Gail Gardner is a perfect example of what this saying is all about.
Don’t get me wrong. I’ve been reading the articles at GrowMap and over all I think her site is top notch but what impressed me the most was the things I heard OTHER people saying about her.
When you see a well known and established successful blogger that you actually learn from coming out to support another blog it makes a big impact on you.
It really makes you think about what you’re dong and HOW you should go about doing it.
Even though you get to create a blog and you can write all your own posts and choose what articles you publish and yada yada yada in the end you don’t get to tell your own story.
Other people will do that for you.
The question is, what will they say?
I want to thank Gail Gardner for setting an outstanding example.
I also want to thank all of the GrowMap.com readers for their participation in this years tournament, you’re awesome.
A SPECIAL shout out to all of the blogs nominated and selected for this years tournament and everyone who participated, read an article, posted a comment, re-tweeted, +1′d, or whatever THANK YOU TREMENDOUSLY I really appreciate it.
Now it’s over to you.
What did you learn from this years #IBCT?
Did you discover any new blogs?
Who would you nominate for #IBCT 2014?
