How to Generate Traffic and Leads for Your Business pt.1

This is part one of the series How to Generate Traffic and Leads for Your Business don’t miss part two and part three.

Everyone wants to generate more traffic and leads for their business.

The question is how can you do it?

Especially if your business didn’t get any banker bailout money.

How can you get more visitors to your site and convert more of these people into LEADS?

Generate Traffic and Leads

#1 – Understand what people want.

If you’ve been following Social Media Saturday then you know that people change what they’re searching for every week.

This special analysis was designed to help you take advantage of what people are thinking about over time.

From this vantage point you can start to anticipate what your audience is looking for and plan for success.

This is why I say the best way to know the future is to PLAN.

Perfect example:

In #SoMeSa 9 I discussed how the keyword “beer dispensers” was trending in the week leading up to St. Patrick’s day.

If you’re a caterer or you own a restaurant or a bar then obviously you have a HUGE opportunity here.

When I originally noticed this keyword was trending it didn’t dawn on me WHY until after I realized the holiday was coming up.

Remember.  It’s YOUR business to KNOW what’s going with YOUR BUSINESS.

How to generate traffic and leads by understanding what people want:

a) Monitor keywords and trending topics using Google trend explorer.

b) Review the products that people have been searching for in the last 7, 30, or 90 days.

c) Identify the keywords that are most closely related to your business.

d) Make a note of how these terms relate to your niche.

e)  Use pro tools to encourage comments on your site to further the understanding of what your audience wants.

#2 – Give it to them.

Using the information collected above solve problems with brand new high quality search engine optimized content.

People love to throw money at their problems.

It’s like a built in reflex in our “modern” society.

I’ve Gotta problem?  Oh that means I have to BUY something.

Example:  The keyword umbrellas and parasols is still trending even though I first noticed it last week.

What’s the problem here?  People hate getting rained on.  It’s the spring season and it’s rainy now.

What’s the solution?  Create new content related to umbrellas.

NO, your article doesn’t have to be about selling an umbrella.  It just has to use this term.

This works because people have the idea fresh on their mind.

Here’s some example titles:

  • Restaurant:  Bring your umbrellas when it’s raining and get a free appetizer.
  • Hair Salon:  Keep losing your umbrellas? Check out our BRAND NEW water resistant spring styles.
  • Entertainment:  DJ such and such featuring MC whatchamacallit The umbrellas fellas we make it rain.

How to generate traffic and leads by giving people what they want:

a)  Use pro tools to get traffic from Google, Yahoo, and Bing the smart way.  Here’s a review of the best SEO plugins.

b)  Leverage what’s HOT and right now that’s slideshare, use it. Here’s an outstanding case study.

c)  Contests are a great way to generate tons of visitors and leads if you do it right. Here’s some outstanding examples.

d)  Link Bait.  These are the posts that people find so useful they link to it.  The #IBCT selection and nomination pages are two examples.

#3 Give them something else.

Remember it’s all about STRATEGY.

This concept is bigger than just what you do.

It’s all about when, where, why, and HOW you do it.

If you want someone to give you their contact information you must first understand WHY they would want to do something like that in the first place.

Then you should know WHEN and WHERE to ask for their information and HOW to ask for it.

You can just offer them something really ENTICING and USEFUL for free in exchange for their email address.

Here’s some examples:

  • Enter your email and a free drink and a half price app at DJ’s Pizza house.
  • Enter your email and get the latest style tips that will save you over $100 on hair products.
  • Enter your email now and find out what happened when we asked 200 women what they REALLY want from a man.

How to generate traffic and leads by giving people something else:

a)  Create a free report for your niche that’s AWESOME as possible and then give it away for FREE errr in exchange for their email.

b)  Use professional tools to capture leads and generate traffic the smart way this software will also handle the delivery of your Free Report.

c)  Take lead capturing to another level with OptInSkin and/or HyBridConnect.  It’s not just what you do but how you look when your doing it.

How to Generate traffic and Leads for Business?

Remember, it’s all about strategy.

You still have a chance if you screw up every thing EXCEPT this extremely important concept.

Don’t forget to put the PRO in the QUID though.

PROfessionals make their money by PROviding waaaay more VALUE to their CUSTOMERS than the fee they charge.

The Free report absolutely MUST:

  1. Impress your potential client by demonstrating the reliable follow up that they should expect from you.
This is why I recommend aweber you need a reliable system that actually works when it counts the most.
  2. Impress your potential client again with high quality useful information.
If you advertised that they “should try this and get results” it better freaking work or else say bye bye to that potential client, FOREVER and they’ll hate and tell other people you LIE.
  3. Ask for the sale.
The best place to ask your potential customer to spend money with you is during the time that they are basking in the sun of being happy with your work.  Its all about trust:

    • Once you deliver the free report as promised you get one point.
    • Then when the tips in the report are actually effective you get like ten more points.
    • Who do you think this person is MORE likely to buy something from?  Someone with ZERO points or YOU?

Generating traffic and Leads for Business is a simple process really it’s all about giving people much more than they expect.

In my country, living off freelancing is possible. I dont like schedules man, I like working like a trojan but I hate schedules. I prefer working with clients who commission me to write articles or such like. I really expect my life to have a different and good twist. Thanks again
