Grow your audience by staying focused on what’s important at all times don’t listen to blockheads.
Welcome to The Monday Morning Momentum Marketing Manual #24.
You can also find all of the previous 5M reports here.
In business you have to move on no matter what.
In order for you to obtain perpetual success you have to obsess only over what deals you can make or actions you can take to grow.
You have an extremely important decision to make everyday regarding your lifestyle and circumstances, you can either get mad or get paid.
In every country in the world there are cultural issues.
People get caught up.
They take sides like idiots putting these issues before their business.
You know it’s happening when you’re spending more time on the cell phone “arguing” about what was said on CNN than you do pitching potential clients or negotiating deals.
It’s a convenient diversion isn’t it?
You’re mad anyway because of your situation and this new “big thing” that happened just made it worse, right?
Now you’re on the phone or Facebook wasting time like you’ll live forever writing these passionate responses to hot topics that will earn you exactly how much?
I want you to be successful.
Therefore I ask you to make a decision NOW if you are an employee or an employer.
It’s not about where you ARE today, it’s about where you want to GO, who are you when you look in the mirror?
Successful business owners have to rise above petty issues and focus on what’s really important like:
- How many more NEW clients did I get this week from last week?
- How can I cut my advertising costs?
Employees don’t have to worry about where the money is coming from so all they care about is stuff like:
- What the TV said.
- Is it time to go home?
Moving on will allow you to focus so that you can complete the tasks that will move you up to that next level.
Yes it can be useful to talk with your clients about important trending topics like the George Zimmerman trial which I accurately predicted he would be found not guilty on Social Media Saturday.
However, you have to know when to move on.
When others are going on and on over these stale topics you have to lead YOURSELF in the direction of YOUR DREAMS.
Don’t let yourself get to the point where you understand the intricate details of cases that don’t involve you while you’re still not living the life that you want.
Accept that it is a major problem if you know the full roster of the New York Yankees but you don’t know how to start or grow a business, even though you say it’s your “dream”.
5M Step #2 – Grow your audience by reviewing Google Analytics performance:
If you don’t know what to do it’s because you are not reviewing your results from last week.
This is the benefit of using a system, you don’t have to worry about your next move it’s already planned out.
Here are my results from last week:
5M Step #2 – Take action to grow your audience by focusing on the 7 key metrics.
In order to grow your online audience weekly you should review your Google analytics audience overview report weekly.
This report contains the 7 most important metrics for website growth.
When you compare last week results to the previous week the numbers are either GREEN which means growth or RED which means NOT GROWING.
Current status: NOT GROWING
Last run: 3 weeks
Current record: 11 weeks
Posts from last week:
THE GOOD NEWS:
- Avg. Visit Duration [QUALITATIVE]: UP 3.91% after being UP 45.97% the previous week.
THE BAD NEWS:
- Visits [QUANTITATIVE]: DOWN 40.04% after being UP 113.33% the previous week.
- Unique Visitors [QUANTITATIVE]: DOWN 39.57% after being UP 104.85% the previous week.
- % New Visits [QUANTITATIVE]: DOWN 2.47% after being UP 0.08% the previous week.
- Bounce Rate [QUALITATIVE]: UP 3.17% after being DOWN 8.59% the previous week.
- Pageviews [QUANTITATIVE]: DOWN 40.34% after being UP 131.87% the previous week.
- Pages / Visit [QUALITATIVE]: DOWN 0.50% after being UP 8.69% the previous week.
Stats measure the quality of your content. If you have a goal of creating high quality content then this will be reflected in these statistics.
The most important statistic in the quality category is Avg. Visit Duration. Seeing this up after last week when all metrics were growing is an encouraging sign.
Now I’ll have to focus on improving the other qualitative metrics Pages / Visit and Bounce Rate.
Quantitative metrics are a count of how many people visited your website. It is a result of your marketing efforts.
Following a record setting week I would expect the numbers to come down substantially and that’s what they did.
Now that they are closer to the baseline I want to grow from here for next week. Even though it’s expected it doesn’t feel good seeing Visits, Unique Visitors, Pageviews, and % New Visits in the RED.
I will make an effort to drum up some traffic this week for my site here’s what I plan to do:
- Write guest posts.
- Write blog comments.
DON’T BE FOOLISH
In order to accomplish the success that you desperately need in your life you have to invest your time wisely.
This means keeping your mind free from distractions so you can focus on what you love to do and DO IT FOR A LIVING.
No matter what’s going on in the world you will still have to provide for yourself and your family so don’t get confused.
The newspapers and media make their money off of getting people all wound up.
Spending hours arguing with trolls on a Huffington post article will not help you grow your online business but it will make you feel like you’re doing something important.
This is why it’s so important that you understand what you’re doing.
My advise, don’t let anything in the TV cause you to spend more time than you need to with your business and YOUR family.
I see people posting all types of foolishness online about what “we are going to do” because Zimmerman was acquitted.
This is the definition of delusional ignorant stupidity.
Yeah, right a man was found not guilty for shooting someone he had an altercation with so what are these idiots “saying they are going to do?” Have an altercation with the SHOOTER, Zimmerman.
LISTEN, you don’t need to be a genius to be successful you just need to know enough to mind your business by taking action for it’s cause.
Then, once you make some money if it’s still that important to you contribute some money to a worthy cause, remember the pen is mightier than the sword.
