I know how it is.
It seems like the walls are closing in on you right?
You have issues at home to worry about, bills to pay that you don’t have enough money for, and other endless miscellaneous PROBLEMS that you can’t control.
For example yesterday I went to the DMV to simply change the address of my driver’s license and I was SHOCKED at how difficult this process has become. It took me basically an entire day just to simply change my address.
You explain to me why I need to present my original birth certificate, marriage license, social security card, and a long list of other documents just to say, “hey I’m moving from this address to that address across town.”
It does one very important thing that I want to warn you about.
IT MAKES YOU STOP.
This is why I’m writing this today.
I want you to be successful and in order to finally meet your true potential you have to FOCUS on what’s important no matter what.
The truth is there are wins in the mile as they say. This is why I keep harping about using strategy and the fact that you have to be successful to be successful.
Here’s what I mean.
- In order to become a prolific freelance writer you must first get some guest posts published.
- In order to get some guest posts published you must first write some articles to impress a blog’s editor.
- In order to get some articles published you must first start writing on your own blog.
- In order to write on your own blog you must first register a domain and set up your blog.
Think of each of the items above as stepping stones to the sky if you will.
If you do them then you will move onward and upward but why won’t you proceed?
You get bogged down by something negative that’s happening in your life so you give in to the temptation to just sit and stew over it.
You make an excuse to NOT write today because XYZ just happened.
You put off setting up your site AGAIN because you just gotta deal with “this” first.
THESE ARE ALL HUGE MISTAKES.
The truth is the sooner you leave the sooner you will get there.
I want you to make yourself aware of the tendency that we all share as humans to “mail it in” when the going get’s tough.
However, I also want to remind you that when the going get’s tough the tough get going.
Both are in our nature so it’s up to you to choose:
GIANT OR ANT
Which one are you now?
Which one do you want to become?
Here’s some breaking news for you. You have always been a GIANT but maybe you just don’t know it yet so you haven’t been conducting yourself as one necessarily.
Instead of rising above and seeing the big picture you keep getting frozen up over little things that seem to “keep happening”.
The problem with this is it can become habit and as someone smart once said you are what you do repeatedly so BE CAREFUL of how you spend your time and energy.
Especially if you need money.
An ant can never see the “forest for the trees”. It can never see itself in any role other than the one it was born into rather it’s a worker ant, nurse ant, or whatever.
A GIANT on the other hand cannot see little teeny tiny problems as they are just too small to worry about.
BUT MY PROBLEMS ARE TOO BIG!?
Well that’s for you to determine if you accept this then I guess you’ll reach success when your “problems” go away on their own.
The bad news is they never will especially if that’s all you think about.
It’s like watching the rice cook doesn’t make it cook faster, stressing about problems doesn’t make them go away.
Here’s one thing that you need to understand before you get carried away with your own sob story.
There are two types of
problems people in this world:
- People in physical pain.
- Everyone else.
Before you get convinced that your problems are soooooooo overwhelming I want you to think of some people who have been able to obtain amazing success in spite of the REAL problems they were facing.
Wade Harmon suffered a mining accident that resulted in his leg being crushed by falling rocks. What did he do about it? He started a blog and kept going until he was generating enough to provide for his family Listen to more about Wade’s story here…[CLICK HERE].
Harsh Agrawal was involved in an accident that also damaged his leg leaving him on bed rest for several weeks. What did he do about it? He started a blog and kept going until it became an international brand. Read more about Harsh…[CLICK HERE].
Now I agree that one of the realities in this world is pain there is no debating the fact that the people who fight through physical pain are the real achievers so what’s wrong with everyone else?
Well, they have SUBSTANTIAL issues to work through also.
Bamidele Onibalusi was born in a “third world” country whatever that means, in short he didn’t have access to all of the sophisticated conveniences that American suburbia has, he’s also a teenager and “not old enough” as some would say but you don’t see him making excuses. In fact you see him impressing the most influential bloggers around with his work. Read more about Bamidele …[CLICK HERE]
Siddarth PK is another example of a young person who believed more than he was willing to doubt himself. Sid is also a teenager and didn’t even have access to a computer to start his blog so what did he do? He started blogging with a freaking cell phone and ended up building an online business. Read more about Sid…[CLICK HERE]
In closing I just want you to know that you are not alone in your problems rather they are REAL (you broke your freaking leg) or perceived (STRESS).
Ultimately it will all come down to you.
As someone wise once said it’s not what happens to you it’s how you respond.
I want to encourage you to make a commitment to respond firmly in your best interest from this day forward perpetually.
Whatever happens just use it as motivation to keep going.
Whatever happened DOESN’T have to stop you but it can fuel your passion to GET EVEN.
Remember, success is the best revenge.
