This week Giovanna Plowman is featured behind Social Media Sam™ the official #SoMeSa mascot.
Her image was the #1 most searched for picture on Google, even more sought after than Kim Kardashian’s pregnant pictures over the last 7 days:
However, the reason why is absolutely appalling.
let this be a reminder to everyone out there trying to find popularity or fame and success.
IT IS ABOUT HOW YOU GET THERE.
DON’T PUT A PRICE ON YOUR DIGNITY.
The point of social media Saturday is to help you learn how to use social media to drive your online business.
The times have changed and publishers and advertisers are taking note.
The most valuable ‘get’ for a business these days is a favorable opinion on social media.
- It’s like the “hallways” if you will of pop culture.
- It’s like your grandmother’s rumor mills amplified worldwide.
If your brand has a bad reputation on social media you’ll have a very hard time making money in 2013.

Hey Darnell!
Yes I’m not a believer in “fame at any cost”, I’m sure Giovanna would love to take back that video. Who would want to be known forever for that?
Prospective employers are known to look you up in Google and other search engines these days. Who wants to hire the “tampon girl”?
I saw the “500,000″ likes post before. It looks like one of those things that happens once, but will never be repeated -despite people dissecting it and trying to replicate the formula. There’s a lot of that in the social media scene.
Anyway great post man and thanks for the shout out!

I’m with you on that fame at all cost thing JG.
It’s not worth it. I know one day she’ll cringe about doing this.
