I sincerely believe that in order to be the best you have to learn from the best.
One of the cool features of the International Blogger Championship Tournament is the opportunity to learn from the best bloggers on earth.
In preparing for this years tournament I thought it would be a great opportunity to hear from the best in the biz on a very important topic, success.
So, I contacted a handful of the top bloggers on the internet and I asked them one question:
What is the most important skill to becoming a successful blogger?
Here’s what they had to say:
Ian’s blog RazorSocial.com was ranked #46 overall in the 2014 #IBCT.
Follow Ian on Twitter and GooglePlus

“Be authentic. With so much hype and encyclopedia-like content floating around the web, people long to connect with genuine, authentic people who have shown their primary goal is to help their audience. The main reason many bloggers fail is they are trying to be carbon copies of other successful sites instead of finding their own voice and approach.”

Lisa’s blog 2CreateAWebsite.com was ranked #44 overall in the 2014 #IBCT

Zac’s site BloggingTips.com was ranked #33 overall in the 2014 #IBCT.
Also, Zac has a second site that was nominated for the tournament #94 ZacJohnson.com. Zac is the ONLY blogger with two sites ranked in the #IBCT.
Follow Zac on Twitter and GooglePlus.

Avinash’s blog kaushik.net was ranked #49 overall in the 2014 #IBCT.
Follow Avinash on Twitter and GooglePlus.
Brian’s blog BackLinko.com was ranked #27 overall in the 2014 #IBCT.
Follow Brian on Twitter and GooglePlus.
*BONUS
I have to exceed your expectations.
I can’t say how excited I am to share a tip from one of my favorite bloggers personally because she has the courage to step up and talk about the most important topic of all:
OUR FOOD
Vani’s blog FoodBabe.com was ranked #56 overall in the 2014 #IBCT.
Follow the Food Babe on Twitter and YouTube.
Now it’s over to you.
I have found that many times people fail to succeed because they are not willing to change.
They start out with an idea of “how it all will happen” and when it doesn’t go that way they get discouraged.
I want you to be successful so I want to encourage you to think like successful people.
Accept that if you want something you’ve never had you absolutely must do something you’ve never done. Welcome change and GET busy but before you do share your opinion on this important topic, success.

Great share Darnell!
As we all know that without great content you’ll be nowhere fast, I think that what Lisa and Avinash said about being genuine and truthful goes a very very very long way. People can see through you after a period of time and it’s hard to save your reputation when you’ve taken the wrong road.
Thanks for contacting these amazing bloggers and sharing this with us.

What’s up Adrienne,
I agree with you, your reputation is the most valuable thing that you can “BUILD” as a blogger I think many over look this fact in their goal to obtain “backlinks” and the like.
Thanks for stopping by I appreciate the very kind words have a great week.

Wow, they all agree on high quality content as being the most important thing.
Without that no one is going to stick around for long. The only other way to make money on the internet that doesn’t require content would be products that sale, such as Amazon. I would think it would have to be a physical product that people want. Anything else you would have to convince people that it would make a difference to them if they had it.
So for most of us it all starts with good content.

I recently started marketing my blog and I could not imagine how easy it is, simply by having UNIQUE AND CAPTIVATING content. It’s like the few people I have been able to reach out to cannot get enough of it.

what’s up Victor,
That’s the key understanding what content will really connect with people. There’s a lot of competition vying for everyone’s attention so when you write you have to make it count. I’ve found it’s easiest to just talk to your audience about the problems they’re facing from there you’ll come up with tons of idea. Thanks for sharing your experience.
