This year will be the best year ever.
I have already accepted it in my mind.
The challenge I’m faced with now is taking that next step.
“It’s like, where should I put my foot? “
Earlier today I posted an awesome quote that I found from a 90 year old women, check it out here.
My favorite line was:
When in doubt, just take the next small step.
So, that’s what I’m doing today.
Big shout out to Pat Flynn from SPI who’s latest income report really inspired me to take a closer look at my traffic statistics.
I ended up taking a different path though, I eventually canned the unique article wizard because I didn’t like the fact that you couldn’t get confirmation of where the articles would be published.
Since then I’ve been promoting my niche site using my own techniques and I have been very happy with the results.
I disclose my earnings to the Holiday Insiders Club.
However, lately it feels like I’ve been hitting a wall.
I need a way to increase my traffic at a higher rate without doubling my promotional efforts.
There’s only one source that will fit this bill:
SEARCH ENGINE TRAFFIC
Don’t get me wrong, It’s not like I’m complaining, I did build my blog from scratch to over 3000 hits per month:
And when my earnings dipped I brought those back too.
But after seeing Pat’s stats for January part of me feels like I may be doing it the hard way:
If the image above doesn’t open try this link.
This presents a real conundrum.
Should I focus on search traffic or stay the course?
A – Change gears, focus on SEO.
1. Get traffic without having to DO anything.
2. I already know how to rank for terms, I’m ranked #1 for “truck license”.
1. Could risk getting smacked down by Google Panda.
2. SEO results have been known to take some time to work.
B – Stay the Course – Keep doing what I’m doing.
1. Maintain the traffic that I have through my existing promotion activities.
2. Grow my search traffic organically through my growing email subscriber list.
1. This is taking too long.
2. Doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity.
What about my email list?
I am very happy about the growth rate of my subscriber list.
The emails go out and the subscribers seem happy so I’m tempted to stay the course.
But I didn’t want to make this decision alone.
I want to connect with you and ask what you think I should do?
Also, it would be cool if you could share your URL and story of how you grew your blog.
Everybody help Everybody.
